Membership Terms and Conditions for The British Association of Day Surgery (BADS)

These set out your rights and obligations as a member of BADS and becoming a member, you are considered to have consented to them. They are based on BADS’s Articles of Association. No person shall be admitted as a member unless they have paid the annual membership fee applicable to their membership grade.

Eligibility

Membership is offered to,

  • Health care professionals (i.e., medical, nursing, allied health professional), including resident doctors, other trainees and students and health service managers in the NHS and private sectors.Ìý

Member Rights

As a BADS member your rights include, the right to,

  • Attend 91ɬÂþ Annual General Meeting.

  • Receive 91ɬÂþ Annual Report and Accounts.

Restrictions

By becoming a member of BADS you agree and acknowledge that you will not:

  • Share your login information with

  • Reproduce, copy or distribute any of BADS website tools, material and information including publications, that are offered as part BADS membership, except for your own private use. Prior written permission is required for indirect or direct use for commercial purposes or if seeking to forward to third parties.
    • BADS owns the copyright and other intellectual property rights in all material on the website and in our publications. Materials include, but are not limited to, the design, layout, look, appearance, graphics, and documents on this website, as well as other content such as articles and other text.

  • Directly or indirectly: reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to download any part of 91ɬÂþ website, its Products or content including, but not limited to 91ɬÂþ Directory of Procedures, BADS Handbooks and BADS Bitesize Topics; remove any proprietary notices or labels from 91ɬÂþ website, its Products or content, modify, translate, or create derivative works based on the Products; or copy, distribute, pledge, assign, or otherwise transfer or encumber rights to 91ɬÂþ website, its Products or content.

  • Create a database by systematically downloading 91ɬÂþ Directory of Procedures.

  • Post, share or participate in any inappropriate, inaccurate or offensive content in any membership forums, discussions or by any other means.Ìý

Member Details

  • You are responsible for informing BADS of changes to your personal details.
  • You agree that personal details provided to BADS (i.e., name, organization, email address, country, position/role) may be used for administrative purposes and to fulfil your BADS membership. As part of your membership BADS may also send you information by email about our work and our fundraising where we feel this would be of interest to you.
  • You can opt-out of communications from BADS at any time.

Privacy

  • Your personal details are stored by BADS for the administrative purposes of sharing information about our activities with you, informing you of BADS events and those of related organisations that may be of interest to you as a BADS member.

  • Your information will not be shared with third parties. BADS will not share any contact or personal information about you with other members, non-members or any third parties without your consent.

  • We take your privacy seriously and comply with the General Data Protection Regulations. Further details can be found in our Privacy Statement.

Liability

  • No responsibility or liability is accepted by BADS for any information provided to you while participating in the membership.

  • You agree that the charity cannot guarantee any results from your membership. Any negative or positive results that might occur during the membership are the result of your own personal choices.Ìý

Membership termination

  • BADS has a right to terminate your membership if any of the terms and the conditions of this agreement or violated and no refund will be issued.
